Finding Joy in Unexpected Moments: A Toronto Sunset Story

When the Sun Hijacked My Video (And Made It Better)

I was just about to record a video for my blog. Then I lost it.

The sun was blinding me, and I started to laugh.

I could only think, ‘Look at the sun radiating off my face.

I completely lost my train of thought—so what did I do? I just kept rolling with it and posted my video anyway.

I am out here watching the sunset, and it’s just amazing. Look at how it radiates off my face, but more importantly, at that sunset.

Is that not incredible? Also, I don’t know if you can see the CN Tower, but most of all, look at how the sun radiates off my face. The best time of the day to take photographs is when the sun is setting and shining in your face, and you’re shooting these spontaneous videos.

And so right behind me is—I don’t know if you can see Ontario Place—right about there.

Anyway, this is my story.

Behind the Scenes: Turning Mistakes into Magic

Shot back in 2019 on an iPhone off Hanlans Beach, Toronto, Lake Ontario, near the Western Gap.

This spontaneous moment became part of our Daily Joy Reel series—proof that the best content often comes from embracing the unexpected. The captions are burned in on Final Cut Pro. In 2024, we clipped it to fit our ’60-Second Daily Joy Reel’ format and added a new ‘IbraDan Creative’ 4-second bumper at the end. This is an excellent example of reviving old content to fit a new format while maintaining authentic storytelling.

The Invitation: What If the Unknown Is Calling You?

What if there's something you've always wanted to do, but fear held you back?

What if the unknown is calling you, too?

Think about it—the things that scare you the most are often worth pursuing.

Maybe your "boat" isn't a sailboat. Maybe it's the creative project you've been postponing, the business idea that terrifies you, the life change everyone says is "too risky."

But here's what I've learned: The risk isn't in saying yes to the thing that scares you. The risk is in saying no and spending the rest of your life wondering "what if?"

Let's live, love, learn, create,
Daniel~Ibrahim
