Ibrahim Raises Bangladesh Flag Under Canadian Flag: A Toronto Marina Symbol of Solidarity for Democracy
At Toronto Island Marina in August 2024, Ibrahim raised the Bangladesh flag beneath the Canadian maple leaf—a powerful gesture of solidarity during his homeland’s fight for democracy and justice.
The civil unrest and violent clashes between civilians and a highly corrupt Bangladesh government are heartbreaking to watch—particularly for Canadian immigrants like Ibrahim, who have many family and friends back home impacted by this conflict.
The ultimate aim is to pursue peace and justice towards genuine democracy.
Unfortunately, Bangladesh needs a civil uprising to force an overdue change of government. Canada stands as a model for democracy around the world, making this symbolic flag display at Toronto’s waterfront even more meaningful.
Thank you, Steve, (our friend and dock neighbour) for encouraging Ibrahim to raise the Bangladesh flag under our Canadian flag. Your flagpole attached to the A3 dock at Toronto Island Marina inspires and educates many, fostering a sense of connection, contribution, significance, and belonging.

A Heartfelt Response to Bangladesh’s Civil Unrest
Ibrahim, with tender hands, raised the flags with gentle grace, a symbol of the shared dreams that across the world embrace.
In a land of peace and order, where justice finds its voice, he honoured both his homes, a deliberate, profound choice.
For in distant lands, the cries of many still echo in the night, where justice seems a fleeting dream, and democracy a fight. His heart, a bridge between these worlds, beats with a hopeful song, for unity and understanding, a place where all belong.
Thank you, Steve, for your kindness, your dock a beacon bright, a testament to the power of symbols raised in the light. Together, they inspire those who see and those who care, to envision a future where fairness and freedom are the air.
The civil strife in Bangladesh, a sorrowful story told, corruption’s grip, a heavy chain, on dreams of pure gold. Yet beneath the crimson flag, in the shadow of the leaf, there blooms a hope for justice, for an end to shared grief.
So let these flags remind us of the courage to unite, to stand for peace and righteousness, to turn darkness into light. For in this simple act of raising colours bold and true, lies the strength of solidarity and the promise of what we can do.

Ibrahim’s 41-Second Compilation
Ibrahim’s 41-second compilation, a truly unique creation, was captured in vertical format at the Toronto Island Marina on an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
It was then edited using CapCut with music added. It’s a 41-second compilation, too short for YouTube. It features two stills by imposing Ibrahim’s face onto AI-generated images.
One image of him waving the Bangladesh Flag, a symbol of unity and national pride, was not created with AI, but the other in this post was.
Ibrahim shared his creation on Facebook and Instagram during a time of significant political unrest in Bangladesh, which directly impacted his friends, family, and community.

The Video Description
This module captures the raw symbolism of raising the Bangladesh flag beneath the Canadian maple leaf at Toronto Island Marina. Moving beyond simple photography, we document the act of solidarity during a time of civil unrest in Bangladesh.
Shot on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and enhanced with AI imagery, this 41-second compilation serves as a digital monument to the connection between two nations. By focusing on the flags and the personal story of Ibrahim, we create a piece of activist data that highlights the power of symbols in the face of political crisis. This is a testament to the “Presence Over Perfection” philosophy—capturing the hope as it happens, not as we stage it.
